Le plus cher BALENCIAGA Nicolas Ghesquière Spring 2006 Blue Dress

BALENCIAGA Nicolas Ghesquière SS06 blue silk dress. Not documented in this exact iteration on the runway, however the cut/fabric/colour of this dress can be seen throughout the collection. The Vogue review says Ghesquiere was aiming to “make something new of “architecture and embellishment, sharpness and ornamentalism.” You can definitely see similarities in this dress to his newer work at Louis Vuitton.

100% silk (3 different types). Please be aware that it's slightly sheer. You can see this in the fit pictures.

Marked size FR38, fits true to size. The shape is fairly free size, however please refer to (flat) measurements carefully. Under arm opening/bust 14”/35cm, black band of fabric under bust 15.5”/39cm, full front length (not inc. collar) 37”/94cm. Please note, the black section of fabric is not the waist measurement, it sits above true waist. Waist is free, as demonstrated by the photos. Given the nature of the fine bias cut silk, the collar was difficult to measure, however pulled flat it is approx. 8”/19.5cm. (The collar is not designed to be stiff or fitted, as seen in images).

Excellent condition given the age of the garment. There is no wear or marks. Only flaws to note are a couple of loose threads and a little pull. The pull doesn't have a loose end, please see image 8 (diagonally above Balenciaga tag). Barely noticeable. The frills and collar have some loose threads; I will carefully trim these however have included a photo to show how delicate the fabric is and what may happen with wear! All in all, basically flawless.
